Kabalan Chaccour received his Master's degree in Computer and Communications Engineering from Antonine University (UA), Lebanon, in 2005. With over a decade of professional experience in various fields of electrical and electronic engineering, he transitioned to academia in 2013. Starting as a Senior Lecturer, he advanced to Assistant Professor and currently serves as an Associate Professor. In 2017, he earned his PhD in Engineering Sciences from the University of Technology Belfort-Montbéliard (UTBM), France, graduating with high honors. His doctoral research, titled "Elaborating the Actimetric Profile of Fall-Sensitive Patients for Early Detection of Fall Incidents," focused on elderly gait analysis and early fall detection. Dr. Chaccour is currently the Head of the Computer and Communications Department at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Antonine University. He serves as the program coordinator of the Telecommunications major, and the course coordinator for embedded electronics courses. He also chairs the Final Year Project (FYP) committee. He has been awarded the local CEDRE research grant and has participated in two European regional projects. His research interests cover Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) for elderly people, ambient sensor networks, rehabilitation robotics, telemedicine, and various e-health applications leveraging AI. Dr. Chaccour is a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of the International Society for Gerontechnology (ISG). He is an active peer reviewer for IEEE transactions and serves as a Technical Program Committee member (TPC) on international conferences and workshops.
